Rescue 1 responds to nearly every call in our district. It is our toolbox on wheels and carries equipment for every type of incident. For fire calls, the Rescue carries several saws, forcible entry tools, airpacks, thermal imaging cameras, hand tools, and our RIT tools. We also have a cascade system on the truck that we can use to refill air bottles for firefighters. For vehicle accidents, the Rescue has our main set of extrication tools, cribbing, crash kit, air bag system, stabilization struts, and traffic control equipment. For Haz-Mat calls, we carry booms, pads, Flowstop plugs, and extra PPE. For technical rescue calls, the Rescue carries a tripod, ropes and rigging, helmets, and our grain bin rescue tube. The Rescue also has a large light tower on the top of the body for night operations.
