Our mission is to provide for the best possible outcome in the event of an emergency through a structured response with personnel who are continually learning the most innovative skills through training and education. Our goal is to provide the best service to those in need.

As an all-volunteer fire department that covers a rural area of 42 square miles and 12 miles of I-74, Clover Fire is recognized as one of the best equipped and trained fire departments in the area. We are proud members of the Western Illinois Firefighters Association, MABAS Division 31 and MABAS Division 39.

Fire Protection

Our members train regularly on responding to fires. We train on pump operations, water shuttle procedures, hoseline attack, ventilation, and search techniques. We also pre-plan different structures and facilities within our district.

Vehicle Extrication

Clover Fire took over vehicle extrication from the ambulance service in 1985, when fundraising for extrication equipment was completed. Vehicle rescue equipment now includes two sets of hydraulic cutters and spreaders; high and low pressure pneumatic lifting bags, stabilization struts, pneumatic air tools, composite cribbing and a portable, battery-powered, combination cutter/spreader.

Hazardous Materials

Clover Township Fire has personnel trained and certified to respond to Level A hazardous materials incidents within our fire district. HazMat Techs also respond to requests from MABAS 31 and 39.

Technical Rescue

Our firefighters have been trained in grain bin, confined space, trench and high angle rescue. Clover Fire has partnered with other WIFA fire departments to establish a grain bin resuce that responds to calls in the area.

Fire Prevention

We recognize that the best fire protection is fire prevention. The kids look forward to our visits and a strong message is sent home with them to their parents and other members of the household.

Fundraising

It started with electric skillets, griddles and the small stove in our kitchen. We had to borrow tables and chairs from the school and village hall. It was crucial for purchasing much-needed equipment. Now, we have restaurant-grade equipment and seating for several hundred patrons. We greatly appreciate all of the support we receive from the community!
